Nuclear Possibili...

Today, nuclear energy powers 20% of our nation with 104 different power plants. While nuclear safety and capabilities have steadily increased over the past 30 years, our use of the technology has not. We should embrace nuclear energy as the safe and reliable fuel source it is. However, nuclear plants must always be as safe as possible and new plants should take advantage of new fail safe technologies so that nuclear energy is contained and controlled at all times.

National Defense

Since the end of World War II, the United States has strived to have the strongest military in the world. Why is that our goal? It is not because we love power. It is because we need to defend freedom and our national interests across the globe. The world needs a strong champion of fairness and justice to keep it safe. Without us, who will fill the void? A newly resurgent Russia or a ever rising China might. Our strong military is a cornerstone of our democracy and way of life because it defends us from our biggest enemy: tyranny.

Balancing the Budget

Budgeting is about planning for the future and deciding priorities for the government but it seems that Congress likes to overlook the future and not choose any priorities in its budgeting process. With $20 trillion in debt and rising, Congress continues to ignore the financial pain that our children will have to go through to pay for their reckless spending. For our future and for our children’s future we need to start reining in spending now.

Congress and the ...

Separation of Powers. Checks and Balances. These are the fundamental principles of the American government that the framers invented to keep our government fair and just. Today, the Executive branch has slowly been infringing on those principles. The expanding bureaucracy in Washington is slowly taking over the responsibilities of Congress in the name of efficiency and modernization. We need to shift responsibility back to the place where it belongs: with the people’s elected representatives in Congress.
